Thiago Palma was the leading man in the film "Ability", which won "Best of" at the 2018 Broadcast Education Association (BEA) Festival of Media Arts in Las Vegas. |
"The actor here playing Batman, Thiago Palma - we call him Chee - a lot of people tried to give me the credit for making Batman this teenage, pre-Madonna (…). That credit should go to him [Thiago Palma]. He was the one that decided to make a choice as an actor, and decided to play the character that way. And a lot of people keep on giving me the credit, telling me “Oh that was so funny how Batman acts that way.” That was Chee’s decision. If there is one thing that I’ve learned working in this project is that you should trust the people you are working with and give them space to show you what they can do, what they can bring to the table, and do your best not to question them. This was one of these situations where he brought something really funny to the table that made the scene better and we just went with it."

Thiago Palma is a pro-active artist and entrepreneur! I knew from the first moment I met him in a tiny Starbucks in Los Angeles that I wanted to include him in my feature film SILENT ROOM. It was a great surprise when he offered to be one of the producers on the film as well! After SILENT ROOM was concluded I shot another feature film THE BRAZILIAN CONNECTION, in which I decided to collaborate with Thiago again. This time I cast him as the supporting lead in which he did a marvelous job. He helped me to craft the story and also co-produced the film! He excelled beyond my expectations at both of these jobs. I am glad he is in my circle of collaborative partners!

"The play's richest roles belong to Ed Hanson and Thiago Palma, evolving male patriarchs forced to cope with senility, old age, death, and in a standout quasi-monologue, Palma's reaction to those rumors that uncle so-and-so "is a fruit".
Cast as a white Northeasterner, Palma (...) adds an unintended but effective layer of suggestion to the dining room's evolution. (...) his rounded, careful pronunciations suggest forces foreign yet elemental, gradually moving from the edges to center stage." - Mike Martin for the Columbia Heart Beat |
"(...) Mr. Palma was well prepared and appeared on time for his shoot, demonstrating not only his skill as an actor, but a pleasant demeanor that made everyone comfortable on set. His background, education, talent, and drive gave everyone that came in contact with him the belief that he has the potential to excel here in his chosen profession. (...)"

"He is a uniquely talented, charismatic, and versatile performer; he has great comic instincts and timing, but can also be a powerful presence in serious, dramatic works, on stage or film. He is fluently bi-lingual (English and Portuguese). Equally importantly, he has a superb, professional work ethic. He is confident and mature beyond his years; he is hardworking and committed, and he knows how the business works. He was already working professionally before he moved to LA, appearing in several local films/TV spots."
